Marina was born and raised in Kolomna, Russia. She obtained her law degree from Moscow State University in 2000 and was a lieutenant police detective, (pursuing a career as a criminal defense attorney), prior to immigrating to the United States. The beauty field was her passion from a young age, however, and she graduated from the Reuben Allen College of Cosmetology in Knoxville soon after her arrival. She quickly became quite the in-demand sylist at all three area salons in which she worked prior to her opening of The Hair Experience, LLC, in April of 2015. One goal in opening her own “unique boutique” salon was to create something extremely different from any other in the region, and it shows! The center of her philosophy is the creation of a strong team of experienced stylists that works together towards a common, customer-focused goal; always striving to master new techniques and working to duplicate Marina's proven results on each and every client while providing superb customer service.
Her inner-detective has never quite left her, and she spends much of her down-time studying current hair trends, especially Balayage. She exclusively uses the Pravana hair color line, and is a Pravana-certified Master Colorist. Most-importantly, Marina traveled to the Buckhead/Atlanta area to train one-on-one with America’s foremost authority in Balayage, where she received her latest certification. Marina also trained one-on-one with the same artist in French Hair Cutting one year later, and brought that knowledge back to share with our team of stylists. To be the best, one has to learn from the best… and Marina has!
Another of Marina’s passions is teaching, and any time she is not serving her existing clientele, she spends teaching our Hair Experience team. While she is not able to currently accept new guests due to her teaching, training and salon schedule, you can be confident that when you are placed with another one of our talented stylists after Marina’s personal consultation, your expectations will be exceeded. (Marina is always available to do a personal and complimentary consultation for new guests in order to select the ideal color formulation, cutting technique, etc… and assign the guest to the member of our team she thinks is best-suited to their particular needs).
Krista commutes daily from Knoxville, Tennessee and is a 2008 graduate of the Tennessee School of Beauty. Krista completed a 7-month internship at one of the Top 100 salons in the U.S. early in her career and has worked with many color lines and techniques over the years. She is a Pravana-certified colorist, which is the chosen line of The Hair Experience. She joined our staff in June of 2016.
Krista has a lot of experience with modern cut and coloring techniques, but the majority of Krista’s time is spent performing Balayage highlighting services for our guests. Balayage is the latest hair trend, and it is not going out of style for the foreseeable future! She is also very gifted at men’s cuts. Like all of our stylists, Krista’s continuing education never ends. She works Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday. She is in high demand, like all of our stylists, so please call to make your appointment soon!
Moneta is originally from Michigan and obtained her cosmetology education through Glemby International Academy. She has been behind the hair for 25+ years as well. She relocated to the Maryville area from Michigan in 1996, and like Rachelle, has worked at several top area salons over the years. (Her last stint was at Maryville's largest salon for 10+ years from it's founding). She joined The Hair Experience in December, 2015, as a Senior Stylist.
Moneta is certified in the Pravana color line, and is very experienced in traditional yet modern cut and color methods for our more-mature clientele and Baby Boomers, but she also seeks continual education to stay on top of the latest trends, including balayage. Moneta works Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturda
Rachelle was raised in Ohio, graduating from the High Point cosmetology program, and she brings 25+ years of experience to the chair. Her family moved to Maryville in 1997, and she has worked at several area salons over the years. As a matter of fact, Rachelle worked with Marina at a popular area salon in 2010, prior to relocating to Texas for five years, where she owned and operated her own boutique salon. Rachelle moved back to Tennessee in May, 2015, just as The Hair Experience, LLC, opened its doors and has been with us since Day One!
Her focus and passion center upon the 50+ crowd and mastering time-tested hair techniques with a modern twist. Like Marina, Rachelle is a certified Pravana Master Colorist. Old-fashioned roller sets at The Hair Experience? Ummm… No! But if you are looking for a very-experienced technician for foil highlights/lowlights, who is both confident and experienced with color and modern cuts for mature women, Rachelle is a go-to stylist! She is also very gifted at men's hair cutting. She works Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.
Makayli, our only native Blount Countian, is a graduate of the Tennessee School of Beauty, and more-importantly, as the daughter of a hairdresser, she has been immersed in the hair industry and salon environment from a very early age! She possesses a real passion for the art of hairdressing and spends much of her spare time learning the latest cut, color and Balayage techniques, and has been doing so for many years. (She was involved in the cosmetology program at William Blount High School prior to graduating from Tennessee School of Beauty).
She joined the Hair Experience staff in January 2018, and has been training with and learning directly from Marina since she joined our staff. We could not be more excited than to have Makayli working in our boutique salon, as she fits in perfectly! We are extremely selective in whom we hire to work at Hair Experience, and you can be confident in Makayli’s talent and abilities, just as we are! She continually furthers her education in the art of Balayage, French Hair Cutting and current upstyles, to round out her repertoire, and works full-time Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays, including evenings!
